Description
The Bernina L460 is a brand new Serger/Overlocker from Bernina. It is a step up from the L450 with a number of additional features and it is a great machine for both new and experienced users.
The L460 includes the Bernina Free-Hand System (FHS) This makes the machine very easy to use, leaving your hands free whilst you raise and lower the presser foot with your knee. This is particularly helpful when working with thin, delicate fabrics that require more care in handling or extra heavy fabrics that require both of your hands to hold the fabric in place. The Bernina foot control and DC motor make for exact speed control, which allows stitch by stitch sewing with a top speed of up to 1,500 stitches per minute. Another great added feature of the L460 is the slide-on table, it extends your work space and provide much more room for your overlocker projects. For the perfect stitch, Bernina’s patented Micro Thread Control (MTC) comes with this model. It is easy to use, with a one-step adjustment it fine tunes looper stitches to fit the cut edge, thus reducing test sew-outs. It can finish edges up to 9mm wide. The looper cover is also a great place to store your accessories, so they can be neatly arranged and ready for use. Threading is easy and ergonomic with the lower looper threader. Thread fast and successfully following the colour-coded path on the machine. The L460 even includes an accessible and easy to use built-on thread cutter. The grand workspace is well lit with LED lighting, ensuring a shadow-free workspace that facilitates precise, accurate work. There is even a cut-offs bin for fabrics and threads, so you can keep your work area clean. It is also a great place for storing the foot control when it's not in use. Also included is an additional accessory box that neatly holds the seam guide, spool caps and tools.
In summary the Bernina L460 is designed for comfort whilst it cuts, sews and finishes all in one step, producing seams and hems of highest stitch quality, from fine rolled hems to wide decorative edges and includes added extras such as the free-hand system (FHS), the slide-on working area and the DC motor that makes for ultimate stitch by stitch control.
